Michael has been creating pottery pieces for over 30 years. He gets the inspiration for his unique designs from the traditional crafts from the Appalachian region. For the texture on his pieces he gets insight from the traditional wood carvers and his folk art designs from the things like dulcimers. His creative ideas come from the local flora and vegetation with his April Dogwood, September Orchard and August Vineyard designs. He uses mainly earth tones in his pottery. He subtly tries to imitate the local mountain ranges utilizing two- tone glazes on some of his pieces. It is a privilege to own quality, Michael Ware pottery that is original and wears the prestigious "Kentucky Crafted" label.
