A 1913 Settlement School newsletter, which spoke of the many challenges the Settlement faced, made an appeal for “every friend of Hindman to be loyal to it.”

Thanks to a strong network of supporters and contributors, the Settlement School has continued to provide educational and service opportunities for the people of the mountains for more than 100 years. To be effective over the next 100 years, we will need the continued support of our many friends.

Becoming a Friend of Hindman Settlement School is easy. Anyone who donates a total of $250 or more during a fiscal year (September 1–August 31) will be included as a member of this annual fund gift club. The Settlement School makes being a Friend easy with automated credit card payment options. As a Friend of Hindman, you will automatically be added to our annual Keeneland "Day at the Races" invitation list, unless you request otherwise.

If you have questions or need assistance, call or e-mail our development director. The Settlement School can assist you with transferring gifts of stock or real estate, or with establishing a trust in memory of a loved one. We are also happy to assist you with including the Settlement School in your will.
