Hindman Settlement School is pleased to announce the first cohort of The Makery Fellows, a juried two-year study plan from faculty of the Settlement’s online writing studio.
Michelle Castleberry‘s debut book, Dissecting the Angel and Other Poems (Miglior Press), was a finalist for Georgia’s Author of the Year Award in 2014. Formerly a student of Judith Ortiz Cofer and Kevin Young, Castleberry’s poems appear in publications such as The Chattahoochee Review, The Atlanta Review, and The Southern Poetry Anthology Vol. 5. She lives and works as a clinical social worker in Watkinsville, Georgia.
Susanna Nestor holds a J.D. from Cleveland State University, as well as medical training in EMS and Wilderness and Disaster relief from the University of New Mexico. Currently residing in the mountains outside Taos, New Mexico, Nestor is a presenting member of the Women of Appalachia Project and an alumni of Appalachian Writers Workshop.
Madison F. Cyr is an emerging poet whose work has been honored twice by Leo Weekly, Louisville, Kentucky’s award-winning arts newspaper. She has studied writing in both Prague and Berlin in community with Spalding University’s M.F.A. program and has published in Boston’s Printer’s Devil Review.
