Over the past two years we’ve shared a lot of updates about the construction of the Mike Mullins Cultural Heritage Center and the May Stone Gathering Place. More recently, our operations team has been focused on other facilities maintenance projects that are refreshing other areas of our historic campus.
A refreshing of the Preece Building is underway. This dormitory-style cottage sits high above campus and offers impressive views of the surrounding mountains for students and guests lodging on campus throughout the year.
Moses and Nathan, our hardworking and talented maintenance staff, have been spending these cold days painting the bedrooms, installing new fixtures in the bathrooms, and updating lighting and furniture in the common living space. When complete, residents of Preece will have much more comfortable and up-to-date lodging while here at Hindman.
While we will be finished with painting and upgrades in the coming weeks, we need your support to finish the refresh on this space! The bedding and window treatments are aging and worn. When we open this facility again this spring, we hope to provide students and guests with fresh linens and pillows to make their stay as comfortable as possible.
We have updated our Amazon Wishlist with the sizes of bedding that we need for Preece and other housing areas on campus. Would you consider purchasing one or more bedding items from this list to support our efforts?
Purchasing from our Amazon WishList enables you to ship items directly to the Settlement at no additional cost for postage (usually, shipping is free on Amazon!).
