Tuesday, November 27 is #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back and supporting organizations that impact your local community. Hindman Settlement School is excited to take part in this day of giving and we invite you to participate by making a tax-deductible gift to support this vital institution.
Our traditional arts programming needs your support this #GivingTuesday.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support traditional arts programming for children and families in central Appalachia. Our after-school arts and literary programs are growing at a rapid pace because students in our area crave opportunities to play traditional mountain instruments or to learn the Appalachian fiber arts of weaving and quilting.
We currently have a need for more guitars and fiddles; additional sewing machines and quilting notions; and funding for creative writing workshops for students and teachers.
- $25 provides a year of weekly in-school arts programming for one student.
- $50 pays for two semesters of instrument rentals for one student.
- $100 covers costs associated with creative writing workshops for teachers and students.
- $250 purchases a sewing machine for a student to use in our after-school quilting program.
Help us continue to grow opportunities for children to experience traditional Appalachian music, craft, and dance by making a gift of any size! You can also make a gift to support any other program or scholarship fund.
Make a gift, get an ornament! Donors who make a donation of any size will receive a limited edition Hindman ornament (pictured to the right)! Best of all, you don’t have to wait until #GivingTuesday. All gifts made between now and November 27 are eligible for the ornament and help the Settlement meet its goal!
Our donation processor is experiencing intermittent disruptions due to higher than expected volume nationwide. If the form below fails to load, please check back or send us an email and we’ll give you a call! Thank you for your support!
