CSA Terms & Conditions
Forks of Troublesome Foods, dba Hindman Settlement School, agrees to provide our members with a weekly box of fresh, locally-grown produce grown on our farm throughout our 13 week season. We grow a diverse line-up of crops in order reduce the risks posed by unpredictable weather. Even with years of experience and specialized growing practices implemented to reduce risk, there is still the chance that we will experience crop shortages and/or failures. Likewise every year we have crops that exceed our expectations and our members receive these crops in greater number or with more frequency than we had originally planned. Our CSA customers are our first priority and will be the last to feel the effects of a shortage and the first to reap the benefits of a surplus.
Additional Farm Products
At the beginning of each week, members will be sent an email detailing what will be in their shares along with farm updates and a listing of any non-share specialty items being sold by the farm and our partner farms that week such as eggs, honey, bread, berries, and canned goods. Members have the right to reserve any specialty items before they are sold at market by following the reservation instructions in the email.
Shares may be paid for with weekly installments throughout the season or as a one-time, full payment. If paying in full, the cost of your share will be discounted by $10. We do not store any of your personal or financial information on our website. Our order site is run by WooCommerce and your credit card transactions are processed by BB Merchant Services. If you would like to pay in full with a check, you may call our office to reserve your share. We are unable to accept check payments for weekly delivers and do not offer cash on delivery payments.
Picking Up Your Order
Your share will be placed in a recycled paper bag and will be made available for pick-up at the designated location and time.
It is the obligation of our farm team to ensure that the shares are always delivered in a timely manner. However, if there are extenuating circumstances that make it impossible to deliver shares at the established times, the farmers will contact all members within 24 hours to arrange an alternate delivery convenient for the members.
Running Late or Missing Your Pick Up
If you are running late or have to miss your pick up, please call 606-785-5475 or email email@example.com. If you miss a pickup without contacting our team your share will be brought back to the farm and will be held for one day. If we have not heard from you at this time your box will no longer be available for pickup.
Vacation and Suspension Holds
Should you need to temporarily suspend the delivery of your weekly shares, you may email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 606-785-5475. Please do so at least 48 hours before your scheduled pick-up. There are no refunds or discounts for shares placed on hold.
Communications & Reminders
We will communicate with you via email and/or text on a regular basis to inform you of a payment or to remind you of a scheduled pick up. Sometimes we will need to send out alerts about your order or inform you about happenings on our farm. By becoming a member of our CSA, you are agreeing to receive these communications.
Cancellations & Refunds
There is a lot of risk in farming. We have to purchase seeds, fertilizer and supplies, heat the greenhouse, and prepare the fields months before we will be able to sell any of the crops that we have been working to produce. Our CSA members benefit because they always get the best of our harvest. We rely on your season-long commitment, and agree to produce shares for you throughout our 14 week season. For this reason we are not able to offer refunds once our season has begun.
We do not sell, rent or give our email list, customer list or any personal/financial information to any organization.
