Meet Lou Pirozzi-Erb
Lou serves as a Location Coordinator with the Mennonite Central Committee’s Sharing With Appalachian People (SWAP) Program. She has been based at the Hindman Settlement School since 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology from the University of Toledo and a Master of Arts in Instructional Design and Technology from Ohio State University, where she also minored in Deaf Education. Lou loves the history connected with the Hindman Settlement School, and she enjoys the opportunity to learn about Appalachian music and storytelling.
Way back when, Lou learned how to do 19th century blacksmithing. She has been married to Peter Erb, her co-coordinator, for nearly 30 years. Together they have two adopted Korean children, Han and Lucas. Lou loves to read mysteries, and Laurie King and Agatha Christie are some of her favorite authors.
