Meet Ola Pigman
Ola has been with Hindman Settlement School’s Dyslexia Education Program since 1994. Prior to becoming the Dyslexia Program Director in 2009, Ola served the Settlement as the Head Teacher and Interim Director of the James Still Learning Center Full-Time School. Ola earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Maryville College, a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Alice Lloyd College, and a Master of Arts degree as a Reading Specialist from Morehead State University. In addition, Ola is a National Board Certified Teacher and holds an endorsements for teachers of exceptional children with learning and behavior disorders. The best parts of Ola’s job are the wonderful people she gets to work with and the opportunity to work with children who are struggling with learning to read.
Ola has been married to Larry Pigman for, as she describes it, “quite a long time.” Together they have two children, Marcus and Kelly, two kids-in-law, Heather and Matt, and four grandchildren, Tyler, Jake, Emily, and Ryan.
